About this Blog

We created this blog to help you plant the seeds of your garden by providing ideas, insights, and inspiration. We hope to provide a resource for horticulture ideas, information, and happenings as well as the inside track to the provocative horticultural practices going on at the Scott Arboretum.

The Scott Arboretum, the 300-plus acre campus of Swarthmore College, exhibits over 4,000 kinds of ornamental plants with an emphasis on trees and shrubs displayed in inspirational garden design. Established in 1929 as a living memorial to Arthur Hoyt Scott through a bequest from Mr. Scott’s family, the mission of the Arboretum is to display plants suited for home gardens and to educate the public.
